Testimonials

I have been professionally associated with Mr. Karn for the last five years. For several years I was the director of the amputee rehabilitation program at the New England Rehab Hospital and worked with him directly. He has extremely high standards in the practice of prosthetics and his work is excellent. I give him my wholeheared recommendation for participation in any treatment or rehabilitation program which involves the fabrication of prosthetics.

I have had the pleasure of working with Maine Artificial Limb since I began working in Maine as Chief of Rehabilitation Medicine at New England Rehabilitation Hospital in 1993. I have subsequently moved into private practice and have become the Chief of Rehabilitation Medicine at Maine Medical Center. I have worked very closely, almost on a daily basis, with the representatives of Maine Artificial Limb who have provided levels of performance and have not had a better experience with an orthotic/prosthetic company throughout my career. First of all, they are prompt in seeing patients, fitting them in as soon as possible and, if an urgent need is present, they will see them on the same day. The quality and appropriateness of the prosthetics and orthotics is at the highest level.

I have found in the provision of prosthetics and orthotics that it is not only important to provide patients with appropriate equipment, but it is also important to provide routine and emergency follow-up for these patients to ensure that the fit and function remain appropriate. In this area, Maine Artificial Limb has performed above any level that I would ever expect in providing this routine and urgent follow-up for patients. They are willing to extend their days to fit patients into schedules and travel distances to ensure that the patients are appropriately cared for. Finally, I have learned a tremendous amount of information about prosthetics and orthotics having worked with this organization. They continue to maintain their education and training, updating their knowledge and expertise on equipment as well as updating their manufacturing processes to be at the cutting edge of prosthetic and orthotic manufacture.

      Sincerely,

    - Robert Haile, M.D.

When I lost my right leg, I was determined to continue doing everything I had always done. From the very first appointment, I felt that Maine Artificial Limb would find a way to enable me to resume a very active lifestyle. Because the prosthetists at Maine Artificial Limb listen to my concerns and spend as much time as needed to match and fit the prosthesis to my body and active needs, I am able to play basketball, golf, tennis, and downhill ski wearing my prosthesis.

      Thank You Maine Artificial Limb!

Maine Artificial Limb, a HEARTFELT Thank You! You gave our boys their freedom to stand tall. Now they are running, biking, skateboarding, roller blading and climbing trees and being typical boys. Thank you for always being there to change their prostheses with their rapid growth right when they needed it. Their prosthetic legs fit wonderfully and we had no problems with skin breakdown. We could never imagine life with prosthetic legs could be so joyful.

      Sincerely

    - John & Christine Tomaszewski
