Fitting Process (Orthotics) The first visit will be with an ABC Certified Orthotist. There, information is gathered to determine the design and componentry of the orthosis. The first step in fabrication of an orthosis is to make an impression by casting the section of the body which will be supported by the orthosis. From this point a mold will be made from the cast impression and modified by the orthotist. An orthotic brace is made from the modified mold. The second visit will be delivery of the orthosis.
